Every life is important. For this reason, the NSW Government has set a State Priority target to reduce road fatalities by 30% by 2021. This is an important step in moving towards the ultimate goal of zero deaths and serious injuries on NSW roads.
While we reached a record low road toll on NSW roads in 2014, additional measures are needed to reduce the recent increase in road toll. These measures will align with the Safe System approach to road safety, adopted by the NSW Government, which centres on the key elements that contribute to road trauma - roads, vehicles, speeds and people.
Road safety is a shared responsibility. We are therefore seeking your input on possible future road safety initiatives to reduce road fatalities on NSW roads.
